Yes, the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey, but to a couple of generations of wrestling fans, we associate it just as much with "The Nature Boy" as with that film. Song: ' Also Sprach Zarathustra' by Richard Strauss (1896) He took it from earlier wrestler Gorgeous George, and said he did feel guilty about that, and he banned the song from his funeral. It is that ingrained in me… and it does help that Randy Savage was/is my favourite wrestler. One of the more recent on this list, while I thought the song was okay when I was a teenager (when it first came out), hearing the crowd sing along to the " wo-oh-oh-oh!"s as he comes out is just something amazing. This is a cover version of the song made famous by The Troggs that I had not heard until Moxley started using it in AEW this year, and it is great. There is just something about it that says "dirty player" and it was so good to hear Hendrix bursting through the speakers. It is such a hard-rocking tune that I can't help but move my head along to it. The song is one of my favourite tracks, and has been since I first heard it not long after it was released. This is sort of a cheat, because Jericho is the lead singer of Fozzy, but the song was released before he started using it as his theme song (it was first used as the theme song for a WWE PPV), first in New Japan Pro Wrestling, now in AEW.
One of the finest technical wrestlers I have seen, he actually chose this song because he heard people hated it and that tickled his fancy. In the WWE when he was known as Bryan Daniel he used a version of ' Ride Of The Valkyries' by Wagner, but this track from earlier in his career even ended up having a ROH PPV named after it.

I have restricted my choices to the following promotions: WWF, WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA/Impact, AEW and ROH because those are the promotions I have followed.ġ) I need to like the song and the wrestler.Ģ) Wrestler's songs, not songs used as theme songs for Pay Per View events or TV shows. For a few decades, a man named Jim Johnson wrote the music for WWF/WWE, and many of his compositions have become well-known in their own right. The majority of music for wrestlers, due to licensing issues, has been written in-house. Now, what this list involves is songs by external artists used by the big professional wrestling promotions in the USA.
